Something exciting happened.
I just got home from dinner at a friend's house an hour ago, and found something exciting in my e-mail. It was in my old e-mail account, so I was lucky to check it tonight. Which was extra-exciting.

This exciting thing is not officially signed, or I'd tell what the exciting thing is. It does involve art, money, and being paid money for art. I will say no more.

Updates to come when they're appropriate.

Well, then, I offer you my uninformed and ignorant congratulations on your exciting, clandestine event. For now, may it bring you secreted joy, which you can cast off the shadows from at a time of your choosing. :D

Now, that might be the Dew talking or the 12 year-old single malt, I'll let you decide. ;)

It brings me joy indeed! It's only secret right now because I've got some tiny little questions to clear up before I feel it is ready to be blasted all across the Internets.

And as someone who got a bit crazy with the cheap Champagne last night upon receiving this information (which is kinda like Mt. Dew mixed with alcohol considerably less refined than a 12-year single-malt), I'll say both. :)

What proud Scottish tradition of 12-year single-malt are you sipping, perhaps with a cigar, sir?

It's Glenfiddich, which has a nice feel to it. No cigar, though, as I pretty much don't smoke anything, save for lighting incense, now and then.

It is that "I do not smoke" thing that really screws with folks, after they've heard my legalize marijuana rant. *grins* If anything defines me, it is the inability to define me. ;)

Good choice for you Scotch, and no problem on the cigar; that part's optional.

Well, the marijuana thing is a matter of choice, not personal preference. I hate pot, personally, but that doesn't mean I don't think other people shouldn't be able to have it.

But you already knew that. :)

Yeah! It has been a good New Year for us, now that I think about it. Thanks!

Hugo's is the cover of Phoenix Lore #3, if I recall. I don't know if it's a paying gig, but he is trying to build his portfolio (perhaps into a massive throne of awesome), and a magazine cover is pretty darn impressive on a resume'.
